Terms and conditions of sale
1 Scope
These terms and conditions apply to all orders placed on stere-direct.com by consumers residing in the United Kingdom with Stère Direct SARL, a company registered in France ("we", "us"). Placing an order implies full acceptance of these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2 Products and prices
Product descriptions and photographs are as accurate as possible. Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP), inclusive of VAT where applicable. Import duties or charges that may apply to goods shipped from the European Union to the United Kingdom are borne by the customer unless stated otherwise at checkout. We may change prices at any time; the price applicable is the one displayed when the order is confirmed.
3 Ordering and payment
Your order is confirmed once payment has been accepted. You will receive an order confirmation by email. Payment is made by card through a secure payment provider; we never store your card details. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in case of suspected fraud or payment default.
4 Delivery
Goods are delivered to the address given at checkout, within the time indicated on the product page. Delivery times are estimates. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be delivered within 30 days unless otherwise agreed. Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered. Please check the parcel on delivery and note any damage on the delivery note.
5 Right to cancel (14 days)
As a UK consumer you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To exercise this right, inform us by email at contact@stere-direct.com. Return the goods within 14 days of your cancellation, in their original condition and packaging; return costs are borne by you unless the goods are faulty. We will refund all payments received (including standard delivery costs) within 14 days of receiving the goods back or proof of return. Goods made to your specifications or perishable goods are excluded from the right to cancel.
6 Faulty goods and legal guarantees
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If goods are faulty you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund; you have a 30-day right to reject faulty goods for a full refund. Faults appearing within 6 months are presumed to have been present at delivery unless we prove otherwise. Our commercial warranty of 2 year(s), where offered, is in addition to these rights.
7 Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made.
8 Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the United Kingdom. You may bring a claim before the courts of England and Wales (or Scotland or Northern Ireland, if you live there). Alternative dispute resolution: you may contact contact@stere-direct.com first; we will do our best to resolve any dispute amicably.
